ATI HD 5870 vs nVidia GT300 "fermi"

AMD presentation attacks Nvidia's Fermi
In a presentation that compares the Ati Radeon HD 5870 and Nvidia's Fermi, AMD holds forth about Nvidia's so called Paper Dragon.
With a presentation, which titled Ati Radeon HD 5870: Lean & Mean - Shipping Today, AMD frets about Nvidia's Fermi architecture that had been announced at the GTC 2009. As usual for such presentations the advantages of one's own product are spotlighted - sometimes even in ludicrous ways.

Especially juicy is the fact that AMD criticizes the "PDF status of Fermi on almost every slide: While Nvidia has only announced the architecture, the AMD DriectX 11 graphics cards are already on sale.

What do you think about such incidents? Is a company that won a round in a continuous struggle allowed to savor the victory or should a serious enterprise burry from such ideas?

Funny, always those fight about Ati vs Nvidia and Intel vs AMD.

Like we all care? Just buy the one you like and stfu, i dont care about what you think. I mean wtf do you need 100 FPS if you wont even see the diff with 60 FPS. It's only showing off, look what I got? I payed 300 bugs more to say I got more FPS :D im l33t!

Just buy what you want, you like Ati? buy that same goes voor Nvidia. Why these fights for a company -_- Its really stupid if you think good about it.

@ManoKiaule You are right. Nobody is perfect, but...Windows Vista? WTF man. Vista was the problem...not Nvidia. Vista is the worst thing Microsoft ever invented after Millenium jesus! Also, I really like ATI. And there is a thing that is a fact. Nvidia new cards are hotter and wattage hungry. But Physx and 3D vision I mean really is fuck#ng awesome you must admit!

Now that ARES is out and it cost 1200$ and two GTX480's cost 1100$ Im happy to say that ARES launch is a fail.

Sure, 2 GTX480's consume more power but why would u care when ur buying such a high-end card. I think 2 GTX480's beat ARES in most of the games

@Zillerz3 Yes thats right but which one cost more? A Radeon HD 5970 uses less power and is $650 for a main stream version. However a single Geforce GTX 480 is $550 so $1100 for the pair.

@lVleSHuGGA I know this is a bit of a late post but you won't be able to. The current Nvidia driver I am told will disable any and all nvidia video/physics cards in the system if an ATI graphics card is present. It will even turn off you Tesla card if you have a built in ati gpu that is still on.

@linkkrw for those who want to play the latest games with best graphics, it is quite important to get the best possible card. Its not about getting 100 fps in a bit older games, its about making the latest games playable with great graphics.
