20,000 people convert to ISLAM in America yearly and the vast majority of them are women

ISLAM has overtaken Roman Catholicism as the biggest single religious denomination in the world, according to new figures.
In its newly-released 2008 yearbook of statistics, the Vatican claims Muslims now make up 19.2 per cent of the world's population with Catholics at 17.4 per cent.

In the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, Monsignor Vittorio Formenti, wrote: "For the first time in history we are no longer at the top: the Muslims have overtaken us."

However, he said that if all Christian groups were considered, including Orthodox churches, Anglicans and Protestants, then Christians made up 33 per cent of the world's population or about two billion people.

The Vatican recently put the number of Catholics in the world at 1.13 billion. It did not provide a figure for Muslims, estimated at about 1.3 billion.

Numbers for other major world religions include an estimated 785 million Hindus, 360 million Buddhists and 17 million Jews.

at one point i thought about converting myself my ancestors were muslims. whites want to talk about muslims but let's talk about the whips,chains,and raping or our black women. my ancestors are from the continent africa which and the muslim religion is also from this continent. in all my ancestors and the muslims are from the same area of the this planet. muslims and blacks are closely related and this is truth in all the muslim men and women are my brothers and sisters.

i'm a blackman and i have a muslim background. before my father and mother divorced when i was 2 my parents were muslims. i forgot my fathers muslim name but my mother kept her muslim last name sha-heer until she remarried in 1986. one of my cousins has a muslim name and he is muslim his name is yusuf. one of my friends who is muslim opened my eyes to a lot of things. the muslims are to me easy to relate to. i'm a blackman and i know what it feels like to be looked down on it hurts.
