Hare coursing is a cruel blood sport carried out around Ireland. Hares are snatched from their habitats (chased into netted) and kept in captivity for weeks. Eventually they have to run for their lives in front of greyhounds. The dogs have muzzles on them but as you can see from this series of videos, this makes little difference to the hares. They are pummelled into the ground and may suffer horrific internal injuries, including broken bones. Hares continue to die during coursing meetings and also after they are released back to the wild.
Please send a protest email to Ireland's Environment Minister, John Gormley (Green Party). Ask him to stop giving a licence to these cruel hare coursers. Please email "Ban Hare Coursing" to minister@environ.ie
