American Idol recently hosted a show called IDOL GIVES BACK. They raised nearly 70 million dollars during the star-studded evening. I am still not sure how this money is going to be allocated. I applaud American Idol and the Corporations involved in generating awareness about the deplorable and dire conditions in both the US and AFRICA. If you have not already donated money, here are some charities that you might consider. Even as little as $3 (the cost of a Starbucks coffee)can help, and when you multiply that by the donations of many people, it can make an enormous difference.
UNICEF is a wonderful charity, with 91% of your donation going to help the cause you contribute to. Other reputable charities working in AFRICA are, Save The Children, One.org, savedarfur.org and Malaria No More are just some of the organizations which are helping in AFRICA. The Salvation Army does wonderful work in the US.
You can also make the choice to use your voice. Write to the President and your Senators and Congressman.
Go to the websites for organizations like one dot org....and save darfur dot org.....and get involved. There are also email letters you can personalize and send to politicians.
This video montage is about AFRICA because that is where my focus is at the present time. It shows some of the despair in places such as Darfur and N. Uganda...and, also shows many of the celebrities who are donating their time to raise awareness about the horrific conditions in the Sudan and Uganda. There is also plenty of despair in the US. You can donate to local charities, work at food banks, work with the homeless or mentor children.
You have a CHOICE...to use your voice...and make a difference in this world. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Start today to do something/anything to make this world a better place. Thanks.

Stop THE patronizing, USING Africa as façade TO RISE MONEY for other alternative causes TWO SEASONS AGO, American idol RISED OVER $37 million supposedly for poor Africa - YET ONLY $1.73 million WENT TO Africa- what happen to the remaining money --African does not need this type Charity -- I the Continent need fundamental assistance-This sort of welfare to Africa does nothing but create a culture of dependency, corruption and welfare mindset -
