My new tutorial on a wonderful song by Opeth. Windowpane is one of my favourites by this amazing band.

I hope you enjoy watching and picking up a tip here and there.

Please email me if you would like a copy of the backing track i used for my cover and play along. Also all of the parts are included so if you know a friend who can play guitar they can join in.

Have fun.

  • Hi ! I was watching the video, I've noticed that the sound is just perfect, and I've also noticed that you got long fingernails. I'm Hesitating to let my fingernails arise because I practise mainly metal music, and I need to be able to do tapping, and I think that fingernails could refrain from doing that. DO you advise me to let them arise ? (Love that jewel of music ... Windowpane ♪♥)

  • @Triviumvsa7x Hi there, firstly thank you for watching and commenting on my Windowpane lesson. Regarding my nails I play mostly classical guitar when I'm not playing Opeth so I need them for that, if I was playing metal mainly with tapping etc I would have to shorten my nails to do that. I'm sure there is a particular length that lets you fingerpick and tap, but I don't know, I'm rubbish at tapping for starters. I think if you grew your nails that they would get in the way of you tapping

  • DUDE,i dont have a CAPO

is there a problem with that?????

am i really going to need it???

  • @near1996 Hey man, it would help if it was in the correct pitch but sure, you can play it without a capo, just not along with the song. Also the chord at 1.35 might be a bit of a stretch without the capo, but manageable. Thanks for watching. Eezer

  • Thanks so much, you have made my life so much easier.

I find I can reach the chord at 1:30 cleanly and quickly by playing the C# at the 7th Fret on the E String and fretting the notes G# and D# with the index and ring finger respectively.

  • Thanks Eezerian !!
