Showing how the Great Trilithon was set out by the prehistoric surveyors. The Great Trilithon is unique among the group, not only in being the first of the major sarsen stone settings to have been raised at Stonehenge, but in having been raised against its markers from the inside-outwards, to face the midwinter sunset. Anyone who attempts to work out how the rest of the Trilithon array was set up needs to remember that it was inner face of the the rest of the stones that was set against the surveyors marker pegs. If you succeed in working out the sequence you can check your results with those published in Solving Stonehenge by Anthony Johnson (Thames & Hudson, 2008)
