While the U.S. drone strikes may be causing havoc in Pakistan's north-western region bordering Afghanistan, they are also taking their toll on US pilots who are managing them from Las Vegas.
A USA based independent photographic artist Lisa Bernard, who interviewed these pilots in Las Vegas, told Express 24/7 that drone strike pilots are suffering from traumatic stress.
Lisa Bernard was in Lahore to attend a conference held by a UK-based charity called Reprieve against the drone strikes..
Charity's Director Clive Stafford Smith says his organisation also plans to hold a jirga with the people of Wazirstan within next few days.
According to him, the charity will distribute cameras amongst the local tribesmen so that a record of the strikes can be compiled and presented to the United Nations.
Our Special Correspondent Munizae Jahangir spoke to Lisa Bernard as well as Stafford Smith.
This what they said in their short interview.....
Prediction: Before the year 2025, various US security agencies will be employing drone strikes against some American citizens in urban areas, probably (at first) against gangs, but later against other groups, families, tribes, and organizations. Corporate oligarchy + an imperial but beleagured Fed gov + precipitous income inequality + ubiquitous government surveillance across America + complex proliferation of security agencies & contractors + permanent rebellious underclass= digital fascism
