The weekend of 5 & 6 November heralded the end of traditional tramway operation in Blackpool before a winter of closure and testing of the next generation of "super trams" -- it will be interesting to see how they cope with salty sea air and stormy weather !!
Whilst some of the heritage units will be preserved, others face an uncertain future and could head for the scrapyard.
Filmed on a gloriously sunny Sunday from around Uncle Toms Cabin, the footage includes a fine bird display over the North Pier after sunset.

  • Very nice video Mike. A beautiful story of a material that is now in the past. This magnificent flock of birds in the sunset. Thanks.

  • @PhilbruProduction Merci Philippe. La fin d'une autre époque. Les oiseaux ont été un bonus ajouté à la fin d'une journée ensoleillée d'automne. Mike

  • Nice video. I am sorry to see them go! NoddingDog and I saw "001", the first of the new fleet, at Cleveleys this afternoon near Anchorsholme. Don't forget though, they are keeping some of the old trams in Blackpool to run during the Spring and Summer... so These historic machines will still roam the prom for years to come!

  • @hardcoretilldie313 many thanks for viewing, appreciate the comment. I suspect some of the older brigade will still be running when the sea air gets into the new boy's electrics, lol

  • @rab4472 Cheers Mike, wished I could have stopped till the end. There was a great atmosphere at Bispham between six & seven thirty - but it was so cold, & I had a two hour ride back home ahead of me by the end of which I was frozen! But, I'm glad I was there to witness it

  • @1Thunderace I too found 1:30 to 1:40 quite amusing too; quick lads, in the car and let's get after them! LOL

  • @1Thunderace Thanks for viewing and your comments Paul. Quite a few passers by asked what was going on
