"Gypsy" is a single and track from the 1982 album, "Mirage", by Fleetwood Mac. The album was released on Warner Bros. Records (WMG) and was produced by Lindsey Buckingham, Ken Caillat, Richard Dashut and Fleetwood Mac. The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and is 2x platinum certified in the U.S. Other worldwide chart positions for the album include: #2 in Australia and #5 in the UK. Single releases from the album include "Hold Me", "Love in Store", "Oh Diane", "Can't Go Back" and "Gypsy". There would be a five year gap between "Mirage" and the band's next studio album, "Tango in the Night".
"Gypsy" was written by Stevie Nicks. The single was released on Warner Bros. Records and was the second release from "Mirage". "Gypsy" peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached #1 on the Canadian Singles Chart.
The music video for "Gypsy" was directed by Russell Mulcahy and was the first "World Premiere Video" featured on MTV in 1982. The video also had the largest budget of any music video up to that time.
