m8, without a pick the main riff could sound just fine, but for the solo you NEED a pick. It doesn't matter how good a fingerpicker you are, if you want to sound like john the pick is a must. The left hand needs some work too, needs much more power if you know what I mean. Im not trying to be the expert but if you want to show people how to do stuff, it would be nice if you d know how to do it
