Already in june, Several companies have decided to go to Oregon and couple surrounding states around Az. The infra structure is here(Electrics Manuf. Jobs). But there is no Big sweeping industry for it because it's still new. In away it will eventually change the economy somehow.
I live in az. the politics of solar power is confusing, even here were having a hard time landing lots of companies. The SouthWest could be the persian gulf of solar power, but I think its all politics. I think Somebody, Somewhere will lose money if Solar Power companies compete, mainly the people who produce our electricity now, its my guess. Vice versu with the automiblie industry.
How about more trains in the country and cities? Does anyone know why there is no development in that area? OR requiring all new homes to be run by solar power?
keep lieing to youself, Oil experts say the oil there will not last a year and will take 10 yrs to get anything out of the ANWR. So how about working on altenatives instead of invading countries. Japan, China are already ahead on the curve developing effcient cars that do not run on oil. Japan puts 25000 cars a day that are not oil dependent.
We went to war to stop Hussein from spending all the oil revenue into Nuclear to destroy Israel. Instead of making his people rich, like we are about to do, he concentrated on death. Same will happen to Ahmedinajad. Their oil production is going down, due to Nuclear weapons development. Not gonna be tolerated for long. If you can't build your own weapons, you are not fit to have them. In this case they hired Russians to build the stuff for them.
It will take years to produce our own oil, but we MUST start somewhere! In 1995, Bill Clinton vetoed a mandate permitting drilling in ANWR. Had he not, the US would be pumping a minimum of 1 million barrels to it's own economy by 2005. Democrats will be complaining in 2020 about how long it will take to refine oil. It's just the same old story with them.

We'll be forced to change en mass with price signals (gas taxes) or we can do it ahead of everyone else, think plug in hybrids....

What happened to Iraq? Why aren't we pumping that oil for free? WTF? We need to elect McCain.
Obama will just pull our army out of Iraq, and all the work for the last 7 years, down the drain.
