  • Do You Know What Piece Morten Gunnar Larsen is playing? :)

  • @19Summers94 Souvenir do Porto Rico, by Louis Moreau Gottschalk.

  • why is it always old people at these festivals?! Us kids need to get into this music. NOW!

  • I hear ya. We've got to pull them away from MTV and the knee-jerk reaction against anything that isn't played on the pop radio stations. I think music study in schools is the best way to open minds up to listen to different kinds of music and form one's own opinion rather than following the crowd.

  • phonograph: don't know V. Tichenor: don't know Holland/Edwards: don't know David Thomas Roberts: one of his own compositions (I think) Bostick/Brier: Lady-Bugs Review (Daniels) (I think) Hodges/Gibson: I Love a Piano (Berlin) - duh! Jared DiBartolomeo: My Pet (Confrey) Carl Sonny Leyland: Honky Tonk Train Blues (Lewis) Porcupine Ragtime Ensemble: Porcupine Rag (Johnson) Stephanie Trick: The Chevy Chase (Blake) Neil Blaze: Top Liner Rag (Lamb)
  • By the way, I finally know what Tom, Julia and Frederick are playing. It's a tune called "Breakaway" apparently from the 1929 Fox MovieTone Follies, a film that has been lost but its music score survived. The Raspberries played in their concert at Kitty's house this weekend, and I was like, "Oh! I recognize this!"

  • @Keeper1st Thank You

  • @Keeper1st I'm in school at the moment, and we mainly study classical music, not once have we been introduced or even told that ragtime or stride exists! Luckily for me there was YouTube, and I was able to discover this art form!
