The Wilten Boys' Choir (Wiltener Saengerknaben) is one of the oldest and most renowned boys' choirs in Europe. Its tradition dates back to the middle of the 13th century. Today the choir has about 150 members, with about 70 boys and male voices in the concert choir. Since 1991 Johannes Stecher is the artistic director of the choir. The repertory of the Wilten Boys' Choir is very broad ranging from sacred music to pieces from C. Orff, W. A. Mozart, J. Brahms and, of course, traditional folk songs from the Tyrol and the alpine countries. Opera engagements are also playing an important role.
