This is the 3rd video of how to play congas for beginners, it covers two NEW tones, the hand finger combination, and "harmonics" which are a great seasoning to any conga players repetoire. Please comment and let me know what you think, Thanks.

*I Will begin giving private lessons in NYC starting in August. Feel free to contact for more info...

  • Having played Djembe and Doumbek for 9 years, and just starting up on Conga's, I am finding these vid's very helpful. Luckily I didn't have to practice with the different styles of hitting. I agree, the hardest is to do is a one handed slap, but feel lucky to not have to learn a different way of doing it. It's the same way you make slaps with Djembes and Doumbeks. I think my biggest challenge is learning to use more than one drum. In my case, a quinto, conga, and tumba!

  • @myarbro909 that sounds great bro! Just means that you've already conquered the hardest part, the playing with multiple drums part should be a breeze! Good luck

  • i wih i could take lessons with this guy......he 's a good teacher

  • @0524cisco lol if you were in VA it would be possible

  • Hi Nate,

  • Tank you so much for sharing...

  • Thank you for your series. I have recently started playing after wanting to for years. This week I went to my first conga lesson and we were able to progress to rhythms right away because I had already learned the tones from your videos (and practiced them a lot).
