@thisisfunNOT Listen to the action with sound on, Le Pechoux comes forward takes the blade with a beat and then attacks, there's no blade contact after that meaning Joppich didn't parry/riposte, he counter attacked. Yes he pulls his arm back into the prime/1 position but that's only to allow him to make the counter-attack without his hand getting stuck. For a more detailed examination, I've got a video on my channel that breaks down the action more precisely.

It isn't a parry riposte.
Le Pechoux takes Joppich's blade coming forward several times, Joppich withdraws the blade as he comes for it again and then counters while the Frenchman is stuck in empty space after the search and having over-extended slightly. End result, he eats Joppich's counter.
