After two decades watching atmospheric oxygen levels drop, a Scripps researcher's conclusions about climate could leave one feeling light-headed.

  • Want to know what the Temperature is like at Mauna Loa in response to that dramatic increase in CO2? There's an Army Air Force base nearby (20miles away) with temp records going back to 1940. Avg temp was just over 75oF until 1970 when, over the next 10 years it dropped. Since 1980 it's been relatively stable at just under 70oF, FIVE (plus) DEGREES LOWER THAN BEFORE! You can find the data at "Wolfram Alpha," - search terms are ''Mauna Loa, Temperature."

  • Ok. So you have seen the long term CO2 trend. Do you realize that the combustion reaction consumes oxygen and produces carbon dioxide? The reactions has implications on the global scale.

  • Paranoid and delusional. CO2 levels have gone up and down in the past, and a lot more than now, with temps lower at much higher CO2. You haven't a clue if the elevated CO2 is even caused by humans, or if it is that it will be harmful. That's total speculation. Temps in the medieval warm period were higher, and it was a time of relative prosperity. It's the height of arrogance to believe such silly doomsday notions that are built on such fantasies as the warmers conjure up.

  • Thanks for this vid, Scrippsoceanography. We need these kind of factual vids in the global warming debate, rather than all sorts of propaganda and Emo-things.
