I think the idea of a neon bible is something that catches attention and is accepted as good even though people don't read it. The people who do read it are drawn to it because it is neon and perceived as good. Upon reading the neon bible it is not what is made out to be. "not much chance for survival is the neon bible is true"

@Scolopacid sounds more like the song is about a neon glowing bible of chemical warfare that spews its radioactive materials into our drinking water and food supply, don't lick your fingers after turning the page on the neon bible because you will likely get cancer.

Arcade Fire is an unsual group. They've enjoyed international success but have yet to signed with a major label. Their last CD was elaborately packaged despite major labels decrying packaging costs for major artsits, and they managed to put out this vieo, which is really quite good. I'm glad that they have been able to retain their musical integrity and have gained in the public view at the same time. Great song, great artists.
