This is my new set up I'm getting ready to put into action. 10 plants total, with 5 on each level. 4" soil pipe, with 3" netpots. Using a 30 gallon rubbermaid tote. Probably going to use 10 gallons of water at a time. 400 gallon/ hour water pump. 1000w hps (enhanced spectrum). 465 cfm 6" inline fan. Switchable 1kw ballast. 2' x 3' closet.

I will be using a screen to tie the plants back to. Also, I will be using Dutch Master nutes. I am going to try germing seeds for the first time. If I get all females I should have: 1 OG Kush, 3 OG x Headband, 1 HeadBand, 2 Timewarp, 1 Timewarp x Romulan, 2 Rainbow Trinity Purple.

I'm hoping for a pound... we'll see.

  • this idea is good but im worried about the angling of the pipes? is it possible to create a negative pressure on the pipe so than when im feeding i can have a suction type of device on the drain side so that water is constantly flowing and nothing remains behind

also, how did you control your roots from not clogging the pipes? did you deal with any root rot?

  • @bengali548 I've never had root rot. I don't control roots from clogging... I just hope they don't get too big. They clogged it once and I had to catch the water that leaked out. The pipes are slightly angled. I don't see the need for a suction device, I just use gravity to let the water pour out the end. Hope that helps.

  • Very nice. I have been toying with this idea myself but i think i will go three levels and have more plants but smaller. Vertical growing has to be a winner for gardens with limited space and flooded tubes work very well. Have you considered adding a fogger to blow down the tubes, reckon that would set this system off to a tee.

  • @alibarbersworkshop I've read up on foggers, and they sound interesting, but I don't really feel the need to add that to the system. My root masses are usually bigger than I would like them anyways. Thanks for the input though my friend.

  • @scrogking Yeah i reckon your probably right about the fogger. I have read the entire Heath Robinson thread regarding this as im sure you have and some people who copied this design ran into problems with the roots becoming too massive and the tubes overflowing. Have you included dams in the pipe to make it a mini DWC or are you going for more a NFT and just letting the nutrients flow as they will. Thanks for the reply, very excited bout this setup!

  • @alibarbersworkshop I've included dams to make like you said a mini dwc. The main reason being I'm scared of having a power loss and not having the roots in water. We've had the power out for almost 2 days here where I live. It only happened once, but it freaks me out. Would rather have dams than a bunch of dead plants. Good luck with your growing ventures.

  • Fucking siiiiiick!!!!!

  • Interesting well done sir!!!

  • @scrogking

did you grow from clones? how long did you veg for?

also what was your dry yield?

    thanks

  • cool

  • @scrogking Do you use peroxide in your hydro solution? It will reduce the size of your root ball. One of the un-desired effects for "MOST" people that doesn't seem to get talked about. I am sure its becuase the plant doesn't have to make as many roots to use the same amount of Oxygen. Great Job on the set up.

  • all hail the king !
