This is so beautiful I find it very interesting that you flip the canvas, I'm guessing that helps in getting shadows right.
One question, just curious, how big is your working file?

A girl did a pretty good pencil drawing of just sherlocks face, and she tweeted it to Marg Gatiss and Steven Moffat, and they both gave her tweets back telling her it was amazing - this is a hundred times MORE amazing than that, so for gods sake SEND IT TO THEM!!! And to Benedict, because Holy crap, if that painting were of me, I would have it plastered all over my walls....well maybe not...But I will certainly have his on my walls the moment I can order it :) STUNNING Work!!

AHHH. I can't wait until I get my financial aid refund. I'm absolutely MUST buy this print. It's been decided. I'll get it framed and it will be so fucking beautiful on my wall.

Is that just one brush you used throughout the entire thing? Please reply :)

@Nogert I used several different brushes at the beginning, but later on mostly just default round brush in Photoshop!

You're my inspiration when it comes to art. Seriously. I wish I could be as good with color and anatomy and mood as you are.... =)
I have a question though. How'd you rotate the canvas?

@1oooinkstains In Adobe Photoshop, holding down "R" lets you turn the canvas in any direction. :)
