@babyyboo1017 so you stopped going because they wouldn't sing your hymn, that's not being religious, that's not even being Christian, you want to know what I mean, find a true fellowship

@lascienvacas oh really, your argument is common and commonly flawed, your anger alone shows a biased view, tbh even if there's no heaven I would be willing to serve god because nothing else satisfies

PRAISE THE LORD FOR THE PLAN OF SALVATION!!! Jesus bled and died on that "Old Rugged Cross" and rose again the third day and is now seated at the right hand of God, His Father! To all who confess their sins and accept Jesus as their personal Lord & Savior, He promises life eternal in Heaven where there will be no tears, sickness or sorrow. Thank you Jesus for dying for me so that I might have eternal life!
God Bless,
Jeff

Apparently this hymn is most often sung at funerals. But it's really about how we live life- clinging to the cross of Jesus Christ. The whole point of the song is our dependence on his death and resurrection- this is how we live, this gives us purpose, this is our only hope for heaven. Yes, I'll bear the shame of the cross- admitting that my sin deserves this punishment- if it means eternal life with God. It's the most precious gift ever given.

@3ss3xG1rl Sorry to hear about your Grandfather
Do you know what the cross represents? I'm going to assume your Grandfather knew, it's the reason they played for him, and for you. He knew that those who accepted the Cross accepted Christ and His blood atonement for mans sins. It is the only way to see our loved one in the life after death, they knew Christ as our savior.... Ask Christ to reveal himself to you, ask for that sign so you can believe. He'll reveal himself to you. God bless

@munchkins44 Many love this song and I know why it sticks to you.
Christ said He would never leave or forsake us.
You have the holy spirit, obliviously you know exactly who Christ is.

@munchkins44 - Isn't ironic that your sign ended with 44. I was born in 1944, joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967, and the very first time I went to church in boot camp, this song was sung by the Marine choir during that service. It's been my very favorite song ever since. God bless and take care. Gunny Sergeant P. Mikaele USMC (Ret)

@punialofa I just wanted to thank you for your service for what you did for me an my country. I'm not like our president, I won't appoligize for who or what any soldier did for our great nation. You all gave me freedom, a debt that i can't pay back other than give praise for our soldiers, God bless you!
