Whaling at odds with 2009 Norwegian animal welfare act

The minke whales that live and breed in Scottish waters are threatened by the annual Norwegian whale hunt, which takes place every year in April. A recent poll taken by WSPA and two Norwegian partner charities found that one in three Norwegians agreed Norway should begin phasing out commercial whale hunting because of animal welfare concerns. In the same poll only 6% of Norwegians said they regularly ate whale meat. Norway was awarded a 2009 whaling quota of 885 minke whales and has killed over 150 whales so far this year.

@anstseth It also is laced with dangerous levels of toxic mercury. It steadily accumulates in the fat and tissues, and results in irreversible brain and nerve damage among other diseases. Hopefully you and your whole family are now dying..... :)

Norwegians are swimming in oil, their average salaries are 3 times what other developed nations make. If you're a Norwegian in drag cleaning an oil pipeline you make more than middle class in most nations, so the reason they do these atrocities is for pure sadism. Plus whale is loaded with toxic mercury so they ship it to Japan. But there's a heroic Norway group called Agenda 21that has sunk 4 Norway whale killing ships. Even sadists can't support their bloody hobby with those kind of expenses.

There is nothing wrong with hunting whales. As long as it is not in danger of extinction it should be allowed to hunt just as we hunt any other animal. Whales are not special. The extremists has created some kind of super - whales who does not exist.
