Well, it has now become an annual tradition to take a trapeze class when I visit the Bay Area! This time, I had the pleasure of dragging some cousins along with me, and I actually managed TWO classes, back to back, when the cousins had to split up the days due to schedule conflicts. I was afraid that i wouldn't even be able to move the next day after the first lesson, much less the second, but actually, I'm doing surprisingly well (particularly after a distinct lack of exercise these last few weeks).

The first day, they had me review the basic knee-hang, but after that, they started me on the heel-off. Basically I hook my heels onto the bar, FLING my body backwards, and then hang by the heels for a second before I fall off (and hope I've been caught by then). I didn't believe it, but actually, it turns out that I could hang by my heels by a lot longer than a second...in fact, the first day, the lady chided me for hanging on too long. Who'da thunkit?

I'm very glad that I managed the second lesson too this time - I got to practice the heel-off some more, and not only that, managed a CATCH with it. Woohoo! I feel so accomplished this time.
