@ubernaffa i am not in a minority. 55% by europes own polls want out whilst only 30% support. Remember that UKIP is the second largest party returning MEP's from this country too. But, you believe that if it gives you any comfort.

Stand up to you Europe...? You do realise that we account for a substantial amount of the power that actually makes the decisions within Europe? You're saying we don't have the backbone to stand up to ourselves? And Daniel Hannan? Ha, the man is a joke. I'm extremely glad that people such as yourself are in a minority if you genuinely believe that someone like Hannan is the best person to lead our country.

I will literally cry myself to sleep for five years if this man loses the next election. How on earth anyone could seriously think that David Cameron would make a better prime minister than Brown is absolutely beyond me.

From an unbiased stance, can ANYBODY imagine David Cameron standing where Brown is, doing what he's doing? Cameron is a naive man and we would be so so much weaker internationally if he were our leader... Please don't vote for him. :(

@ubernaffa i, on the other hand will be dancing on his grave, top hat and tails. Not one of the big 3 has the strength to lead this country nor the nerve. No one has the backbone to stand up to Europe other than Daniel Hannan, who i believe would make a far better statesman and PM.

LOL. This speech gets better and better. Then he goes off to talk protectionism, and how a bad bank anywhere is a threat to good banks everywhere. You think he has the people of great britain, america....anywhere really, on his mind? This man is a corporate machine! best quote~ "billions of people in other continents will move from being producers of their goods to being consumers of our goods" A.K.A. ~~"Our banks can manage their money, because we don't make shit anymore." This is hilarious.

Our shared history? Our shared values?

I swear politicians bank on the fact that people are idiots.

But who knows, maybe i am wrong...maybe i was greatly mis-educated when i learned about the revolutionary war, and who America had to fight so it could be the land he praises it to be. This guy is a joke.
Last line of defense against the banks, eh Mr Brown? Your right, was a great call to push the g20 for a MASSIVE BAILOUT of the banks, some GREAT defense was being played. o.O Ridiculous.

Course he was elected! He's a flippin MP! We don't elect the PM in the UK, we never have, we elect our local MP's who by tradition nominate the head of their parties as PM.

Absolutely correct. Under first past the post, we elect a political party to make up the government. The political party that wins the most amount of seats in the Commons (ie wins the most constituencies) makes up the government. It's then up to that elected party to select who is to be their leader, and hence forth, the Prime Minister.

@ariaelwen it does give the leader a certain amount of legitimacy when they are the ones who promote the party and their vision at the previous election though.
