Usually those don't run any faster than that. With these, you can also sometimes run them off the warmth of your hand or something thats been sitting in the sun outside :-)

Just love Jan's plans and your works is truly inspirational!
I'm about to start work on one of these and decided to pop into Youtube to see if anybody had built one too when I bumped into your work. Great stuff! I would be thankful if you could indicate the forums web site.
Keep up the good work!

I can hear already a miniature sputter
going on so it can't be from you, out of cigs again?
or remarking on national health care quality? It's perhaps...an impulse turbine? :^)

nice work man it looks verry good.
i was wondering what else you changed except voor de the length of the cylinderwal and the displacer.
because i made one myself, and it wont work. it misses the power to start.

I should really have made an easier one to begin with, as it was a real pain to get it friction free enough to run. Oil on any part will kill it dead. Everything has to be well sealed and dry. The main problem was the bearings for the crankshaft, they have to be made spot on, just like a watch pivot. I am looking at fitting miniature dry running ball races on the rebuild of this engine, as it was accidently dropped and the crank was badly bent.

It seems that you cannot put URL's into these posts but if you do a google search for Home Model Engine Machinist you should find it straight away.
