This is a basic knot used to tie together various pyrotechnic fuses and finales. I tried to come up with a way to remember the knot and made a video about it. Hopefully if you trying to learn about fireworks you may find it helpful. Remember over the top, right. left ,through the V.

  • i had to re watch the instructions 16 times to finaly become novice at it. ive masterd it by now, but i subscribed to you and decided to comment on the most helful vids by you so, ya!

  • @saraandsandy Once you do it in the field it will really stick with you.

  • Thanks for the really good video of the Clove Hitch. Your missing a key component of the fireworks knot. It really needs an overhand knot to finish it as a safety. If you pull or manipulate the quickmatch at all, it will loosen and come apart without the overhand knot. Tape is for novices and also can tear or come apart. The Clove Hitch is easy to tie and you can learn to tie it fast with a little practice. If tied correctly it will never pull apart.

  • You are correct you should finish with a simple knot and it will not come apart. I should have added that but figured it would really complicate it for the novice. I have also seen people tie this knot starting it differently from under as apposed to over the top. My way is Over the Top, Right ,Left Through the V. Now add finish with simple knot. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Where can you buy quick match?

  • Great video. I learned it, and now it'll be easy to remember as well... over the top, right, left and through the V.... Thanks!

  • I mounted a 30ft light-rope to a fence in front of our house today and took the opportunity to practice this knot every 10 inches... Damn that knot is a quick one when you get hold of it...

  • honerstly i dont relly know how you cna "forget" how to do this knot since, it is extreamly simpel and easy to do. and i remembered it from the first time i used.. anyway... you can make the knot even stronger if you, when you go through the "V" takes it around the loop to the right. because then when you tighten the knot it will lock itself making it much harder to loosen. = its stronger... (^.^)
