Son of a Sailor (Jimmy Buffett cover)

Son of a Sailor is a Jimmy Buffett Classic, and one of my all time favorites. I have a guest appearance by 11-year-old Katie Mayhaw who wanted to sing with her Dad. I wanted to add the bongo and conga drum tracks, but I just havent figured out how to mic them, so I can get the tone Im looking for. Maybe one day. This is just one of the Jimmy Buffett covers that I have recorded. I am in the process of re-recording all my Buffett Covers since I got my DP-008, which will allow me to put more tracks into each song.

I recorded and mixed 10 tracks on my Tascam DP-008 multi-track recorder. Two acoustic rhythm tracks (one strumming, one finger picking) using my Fender 140SCE thru an Acoustic AG30 amp, one bass track using my Peavey Millennium BXP Bass thru a GK Backline 110, Two vocal tracks (me and Katie) using a Shure SM-58 run thru a Behringer Xenyx 1202FX board, two hand percussion tracks, one harmonica track using a Hohner Special 20 Harmonica, and two stereo drum tracks using an Alesis SR-16 drum machine.

The video is laid over the final mixed audio track; so if it doesnt line up perfectly, dont beat me up too bad. Hope you like it, and thanks for watching.

@onewomanandsomesongs I have been influenced by him. I always stop in PC at Margaritaville Cafe with my family. He was the reason I picked my music back up after 19 years of layoff. When I started my Youtube channel, I was going to only do Jimmy Buffett Tributes, but I changed my mind. The blues actually run pretty deep in my soul. Whats sad is that I have not posted my best Buffet or Blues work as of yet. One day I'll get around to it.
