@JimmySand9 Hmmm...upon listening to it again, it actually sounds a bit Non-Stop-ish, like something from the First news package WTOP-FM uses up here in DC. Something to think about.
@JimmySand9 I actually submitted that to the NMSA years ago (I remembered the slogan from the image campaign that went with it). As far as I know, no one currently at WRIC knows anything about it either -- I asked a while back, and apparently anyone that would know has either retired or left after Nationwide sold the station.
As for who made it, I'm relatively sure it was either Gari or Tuesday Productions; WRIC used a Tuesday package (The News Image) before they became WRIC, so...
I have a video clip I found online of WRIC in 1991 (a promo tease) and the music is VERY jazzy. They switched from Eyewitness News to TV8 News in 1992, so I don't know if they toned it down any when they made that change.
The NMSA says it's called "Discover the Difference", but beyond that, I don't think anyone knows anything about it. There are also hardly any clips of WRIC from this era, so that also makes it tough to identify.
I wonder if anyone out there knows anything about the music WRIC used on their news from 1990-1996. It seems to be a custom package no one else used, and I really liked certain parts of it.
