  • Just discovered this astonishing singer. Well, clearly I'm really ignorant. One of the things I like the most in this interpretation, is the sober way she uses her technique: everything seems subordinated to the music, I cannot see any narcissistic ostentation of bravura (just the opposite of what some Italian or German singers of today do). Roberta, you so beautiful without any ostentation, may you live for ever in the heart of the music lovers!

  • Thank you! Roberta Peters is an iconic Queen of the Night. Love the voice; it's not too heavy, and not too light, yet it has all the agility required for this role. It's beautifully projected across the stage and her technique is flawless. Her Gilda in Rigoletto is incomparable and one of the best.

  • I have always held Peters in high regard she had a unique and instantly recognizable tone. incredible agility and flawless technique for decades. A great singer, decent actress, wonderful warm personality and she was lovely to look at as well. Her Rosina, Lucia. Norina and Queen of the Night were great!

  • Brilliant! Thought it was her but the full tone threw me! One of a kind legend! Remarkable artist!

  • Marvelous! Although the incorrect pronunciation of "Rache" at the end of the aria.

  • wow. shes amazing

  • @ubedajils sì, ella es meravigliosa.

  • Fantástico, Roberta!

  • I was never a fan of Miss Peters' coloratura due to the first recording I bought of hers. Her chest and middle registers were fine but the top went in a totally different direction. It sounded manufactured unlike this version of QN. Dramatic and even through out. Maybe it was because her voice was already on the decline when I bought that record. Yes Record. LP. lol This QN version is in the ranks of the best. Thank you.

  • Great tech effect. I was really caught off guard at the end.

  • Whoa! Lucia Popp as the First Boy! And to think she would eventually sing the Queen of the Night and Pamina as well.

  • @elicottero shes no susan boyle!!!!!!
