Bird-A Thons are held all around the world, usually to raise money for conservation projects. Teams compete to find as many bird species as they can in the allotted time period, usually 24 hours. At this year's event on the Tug Hill plateau, the ESF team came in 3rd out of 40 teams in Central New York. 133 species were identified. Plans for 2012 are underway.
