Rosemary Clooney " Eggbert The Easter Egg "

This was recorded by Rosemary Clooney in 1952. and the flip side is Bunny On The Rainbow.I have included a scan of the 78 sleeve (cleaned up) for you to see.She was such a wonderful singer and recorded many songs for children and us adults to enjoy.She left her mark in the recording industry and we are the ones who have benifited from her music.Please enjoy.

I believe that Roy Rogers had a version of this out on R.C.A.

@wildcman Yes it did,back in 1951 and was listed in Billboard in1952.It was reissued later by RCA on 4566.It has been posted on Youtube.It is cool.Thanks for dropping by... :)

We have been signing this song for years at Eastertime--mostly to annoy my Dad and brother! I did not know the actual song has the same lyrics twice... They will be soooo happy to hear our new version this next year!

I searched for this on Google 5 years ago or so with no joy! Only a Lyric website that wanted to charge me, but I really wanted the tune. I was taught this in elementary school (Canada) 40 odd years ago and had no idea the wonderful Rosemary Clooney recorded it. No one in my life 20 years later had ever heard of it!

@purpledivaification In my music class, our teacher had us sing this and we made little paper easter eggs with a little chick inside. the egg would "crack" open to reveal the little chick. LOVE THAT MEMORY!
