EVALUATING CLASSROOM GAME SHOW SOFTWARE: Actually, the game is called Heist. It's similar to jeopardy but allows for 5 categories of 10 questions each and students can choose to take $$$ away from other teams (hence the name). They can also try to double their money in a double or nothing roll. This game doesn't have the ridiculous requirement of having to phrase things as a question or a final round. Once the questions are all answered, the team with the highest score wins. The questions are teacher-made or downloaded from www.pathoslearning.com and all eight Game Show Wizard games can be played using the same set of 50 questions. Runs about $60 for all 8 games. Can also print out randomized tests from the questions the teacher has made.
I give this one a 5/5 stars for flexibility, economy, and general coolness. This is far better than trying to use PowerPoint templates for classroom gaming. Smartboard seems optional.
