I design Halo suits, including this helmet from the game Halo ODST. I made the base of the helmet out of card stock paper and tape. I then mixed fiberglass resin to start a coat over the outside of the helmet for strength. I then used fiberglass on the inside of the helmet for reinforcement. I used a program called Pepakura to make the origami type-folds.

  • Wow first comment!! I am making an odst helmet too, but i am a beginner. Since you design these a lot , do you have any tips for making the visor?

  • @Mattcat3121 Visor is a little tricky. You can make it using a standard visor for a motorcycle, like a HJC gold tinted or blue tinted visor. It wouldn't truly look like the polygons on the visor, but it looks very good. The other option I have seen is actually getting a bubble shaped visor and using that for the visor. Google "405th" as they have some great forums and guides on how to make the visor for this. Good luck!!

  • Is that a hardening agent @ 0:34 ? If so, what is it called?
