Sorry guys but humanity will always find another way to put to death the condemned. I'm not making a for or against arguement here.

You did say they were equal. You at least implied it. I could go back through the comments and grab that excerpt, but I'm just too lazy. But I will if believe you did not say or imply this.
On the grand scheme of things, depending on the perspective, a cricket very well may be "equal" to a human. But from our own perspective, bias being irrelevant, we consider ourselves to be more valuable than a single cricket. Anyway, prison does not equal murder.

@restl...
Scientists do poll the public to determine the validity of their hypothesis. Behavioral and social sciences validate the general opinion of others. This doesn't validate that something is more valuable -- of course not. Again, value is arbitrary. But this is where morality comes from. Clearly if you use logic in this circumstance, you would arrive at an immoral conclusion; that killing children is the same as killing a tomato plant. We believe that is false.

@itcanbecheezcaketime Fucked that up... ive been drinkin tonight sooo anyways... What i was tryin to say is that inequality and equality are essentially false presumptions created by the mind. A cricket is a cricket and a person is a person, I dont think I ever claimed that they were "equal", just that they are not of different value.
I looked at your favorites and saw a lot of Joe Rogan/Ron Paul and I strongly brlieve they would agree with me, you shud take a 2nd look

@itcanbecheezcaketime Yes, most people would put more value on the life of a cricket than a human, and in terms of impact on the average person's life I would agree. But how does this validate your claim in any way?
Scientists do not poll the public to determine the validity of their hypotheses.
Crickets and humans are both parts of the universe, they both play roles in the universe, and so do

I'm not saying a cricket is better than a human. I'm saying a human is more VALUABLE than a cricket. "Value" is arbitrary to begin with, so of course it can't be proven to be true. Your claim of equality is null and void. Get it now?
We are not at a stand-still. Because we're using arbitrary value systems, the one thing I have on my side, that you don't, is majority opinion. MOST people would put more value on a human life than a cricket's life. Ad populum.

I would pose the same question to you: What makes a cricket have the same value as a human? Is it not arbitrary to begin with? Again, this is morality for you. This is not strictly logical. You see now? You're claiming equality. I'm claiming equality doesn't exist.
-
@itcanbecheezcaketime And what you are saying is any different?
-
@itcanbecheezcaketime Tell me then... what makes a cricket have a higher "value" than a human. They do not possess similar characteristics, this is true, but nothing says that one is "better" than the other.
Saying a cricket is better than a human is no different than saying red is better than yellow, or earth is better than mars, or any other comparison that can be made based on opinion.

@itcanbecheezcaketime Anyone that is sentenced to death would otherwise serve life sentences. I never said they are locked in a "tiny" little cage, they are imprisoned, behind bars, in a cage essentially, the fact that you try to use this as something against me is rediculous.
The only major negative downside to the deathpenalty in my eyes would be the possibility to kill an innocent person. If someone truly kills someone else in cold blood they dont deserve any joy.
I'm sure China is willing to step in to supply the Americans. XD
