You can easily do something like that in programmes like Realtek HD Audio, you just have to click Karaoke button and it automatically takes out the main vocal ... you can hear some echo in the background like DaniZephyr wrote below .... it takes out some instruments too, so it doesn't sound natural ...

i think what they mean by "official" is that it's the actual track but with the vocal track stripped from it. that's why you can kinda hear the echo of the vocals..
