There is a mix of greek - hellenic pontian dances in this video.
In the hellenic - pontian idioma dance is called, Horon. This word is coming from Ancient Greek Attic dialect.Today in Hellas, Greece if you prefer, dance is called horos or choros. The only change for almost 3000 years, is the accent, and nothing else about these dances - horous.

  • And for those who are not aware . . . i must remind them a date . . . 6th September of 1955.

And of course the tragedy in Cyprus.

This is not propaganda . . . this is History.

The more the Turks deny it . . . the worse they are doing to their selves . . . and their country.

  • I will not accept crap comments from anyone . . .

    Propaganda is for fulls . . .

Genocide of the Hellenes of Pontus did take place.

Is was well organized and occured almost the same time with the Armenian and Assyrian genocide.

We must also not forget the Genocide of the Hellenes in the Ionian region ( You know the Burning of Smyrna e.t.c.) and the massacres in Thrace

  • @AlexBouzouki Kemençe has its roots in Central Asia where it was always being played. And the butchers you mentioned were actually Greek mobs who sided with Imperial Russia in the war. Your mobs raped, killed, destroyed, burned along the Black Sea coast and tried to abolish our sovereignty BEFORE the resettlement took place.

  • Ignorant people, visit the greek villages of black sea and talk to the peopl. They speak ROMEYKA

and the fascist turkish nation is trying to terminate their culture, like kemal(the butcher)did back in 20'.

  • @zicco26 Hahaha, laz people? Please, laz people were living eastern of trapezous not in the whole area of pontus...

PS There is not original turkish culture(it was made by kemal during his state) so you cant talk about turkish elements

  • @zicco26 kemence comes from persian instruments.byzantine greeks before one thousand years adopted this instruments and made such lyras.

  • @AegeanKing Lyra and Kemence are different. If you look at the string instruments in Central Asia like in Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaycan, Turkmenistan and Kasachstan for example, which are in use there for thousands of years, you can still see the clear relation to the Kemence. Don´t confuse your cretan lyra with the Kemence. But along the variety of these string instruments there can be crossovers also.

  • @AegeanKing Yes, anyone besides you is barbaric. In bygone times Turks were martial people moving West due to political instabilities and bad environmental conditions. Central Asia is by far not like the warm, convenient and fertile Aegean land and seaside. In times past environmental conditions were maybe the most determining factors. Also, migrating is the exact thing Greeks did also before. If you gave yourself the right to settle, others can also.

  • @zicco26 No, that is false. Greek was the official language of Pontus during the reign of Alexander the Great and King Mithradates VI. Kemence is not Turkish. It is descended from the Byzantine Lyra. Just google Byzantine Lyra to see. Turks are illiterate nomads from Asia who were made civilized by the Persians and Byzantines.

  • @AegeanKing I was writing about the official language in the region and not about when you got there, greek started to become the official language there first in Byzantine. And why do you emphasize all the time that Turks are from Asia, nobody states the opposite. Greeks were initially from the region of Morea before they started to spread everywhere and if you go even more back in history you were indo-germanic tribes coming to the peninsula from eastern europe, keep that in mind

  • @zicco26 Greeks have been living on the Black Sea since before the time of Alexander the Great so don't be ridiculous.
