the moves are depending on rythm... and this is slower than normal.
i have seen similar ones.
and, if i know well, the guru can choose the speed of moves , the difficulty of moves
especially for the student,
good luck with dance

@Awiesha she makes it look so easy, that's why she's doing it right!

I've learnt many padhams and varnams. But still, getting on stage to do the alarippu sometimes gives me butterflies in my stomach. It MUST be executed with perfection.
There's a saying in tamil that goes like this, translated - Just by examining a grain in pot, you can tell if the pot of rice is cooked.
When I go to watch dance recitals, the alarippu item decides for me if I should just switch off later or continue to focus thereafter.

Alarippu is the first opening item in any margam (indian classical repertoir), sometimes substituted with a pushpanjali/ kautuvam.
If you're a passionate and skiled dancer, you will realise that it is not an easy item at all. The symmetry, coordination of eyes with limbs and the mathematical torso lines that one must be able to assume is immense.
Usually, you can tell the nrita capacity of dancer just by looking at his/ her alarippu. It tells A LOT!
