  • Has anyone found the Andrew Blane version of this technique?

Andrew makes a crucial comment about one sided peg weight/lean which this video omits?

    Cheers

  • @NEEBLAMMERS We don't have a video of Andrew Blane instructing on hopping the rear wheel, just the front wheel

  • @NEEBLAMMERS Ryan Young says in his Lesson #15 on real wheel hop: "You can lightly press your inside calf against the bike to help nudge the bike sideways. But this is not necessary if your jump forward is properly diagonal toward outside the turn."

In his Lesson #14 on front wheel hop, he says: "At the end of compression, lean the bike slightly in the direction of the hop. During rebound, pull up on the inside bar to 'pull' the front wheel back to perpendicular."

  • No good if it all goes 'no stop' again!

  • @lingo75 Ryan Young says in his Lesson #15 on Rear wheel hopping: "Even under the so-called 'no-stop' rules, a moving real wheel hop can straighten a near impossible turn..."

  • @trialstrainingcenter surely you are then moving and therefore not stopped?

  • @lingo75 Correct. If you go to the 6:45 mark of this video of Ray Peters, you can see him immediately continue forward motion after the hop. There may be a split second where's he not moving forward but in competition, this is usually seen as continuous motion forward.
