French Ambassador Michell Lummaux claims that the Government is providing all facilities needed by the civilians who have taken shelter in transit villages..
A group of foreign diplomats including the French Ambassador monitored transit villages in Vavuniya yesterday. They included diplomats from, Russia, Indonesia, South Korea, the Maldives and Japan. The United Nations was also represented. The French Ambassador was pleased with the facilities granted to the displaced.

She said the Government was caring for the displaced civilians, who have fled LTTE held areas. Their visit helped to get a clear picture of the situation. The people were receiving better food while children were well looked after. Transit villages are sheltering them sans endangering their lives until they are permanently resettled. She expressed satisfaction over the facilities extended by the Government.
