Oh, it's there alright. John mentions it in this very video, did you miss it? Let me quote:

1:30 "In fact researchers believe that 90% of total giraffe sex is male giraffes having sex with male giraffes, and that 1% of total giraffe sex is females having sex with females, meaning that just about 9% of giraffe sex is heterosexual." ―John Green

I didn't hear about female on female rate of 1%. Maybe it's there, maybe not. But I'm certain that the 90% refers to male sex. As in, 90% of male sex is male on male. That statistic does not have to do with whether females actually have sex with other females. Based on that statistic the logic would be that males dabble in heterosexual and homosexual encounters (10%, 90%), but females could easily only have sex with male (100%). Hence my curiosity.

He actually DID say 1% of giraffe sex is female on female. Which may not seem much, but remember 90% is male on male and does not even involve females. So about 10% of the time a female giraffe has sex it involves another female. Which is big, considering 10% is also the amount of times a male indulges in heterosexual sex.

And he did not only talk about males. He talked mostly about giraffe's heterosexual practices, and females were also mentioned in the short bit when he mentioned homosexuality
