The June Ball is the most prestigious event in the Durham University calender. The Ball itself is held in Durham Castle and goes on for over 12 hours. We are hoping to gain sponsorship to continue to raise the standard of the guest experience. Benefit for sponsors include being able to target top Durham undergraduates and the opportunity to be association with a truly special night.

  • The curly-haired boy looks like Pippin from LOTR, in a sweet way :P

People need to get over it regarding state vs private education. I went to a private prep and later moved to a state school and had perfectly lovely friends at both. Reverse snobbery is just as bad as standard snobbery. Nice people don't give a damn about money, however rich or poor they might be.

  • they are working together towards the completion of their project! magnificent team with a good vision!

  • the June ball, is it just for people that are graduating that year for the whole college

  • I have to admit that the first guy talking sounds like a complete toff.

I mean i like the idea of a good education but he sounds as though he has just bought his education and qualifications,

  • I thought the dress code was supposed to be White Tie. I have seen a lot of Black Tie and a few (gasp) neck-ties and lounge suits but there don't appear to be any tailcoats in sight.

  • Not true, I got in, I'm not rich.

  • sounds like snobbery and ill-informity to me...

  • No you're wrong. Purely merit I'm afraid. Now enjoy painting your face green.

  • Quite a response. I think it's probably more to do with financial standing and social class than attitude, to be honest. The most important thing I learned at uni was that standardised education breeds automatons, shortly before I sacked it off and started getting paid loads as a freelance journalist - a job that values talent over pomposity.

My mother went to Durham Uni actually, she said it was alright but badly organised. ps. I'm not prejudiced, just experienced and opinionated.
