Compositions

1. Sirulu Minchina
Sabdam is a traditional dance piece, which is taught to young dancer. The Sabdam taken up for this performance portrays a young, handsome man, walking along the street of Kandukuri. The maidens of Kandukuri, struck by the beauty of this handsome man, remind him that he is the Lord of Kandukuri and should desist from acts, which are not befitting his noble status.

2. Andal Kouthuvam
In the village of Srivilliputhur was discovered a baby girl in the Tulsi garden if the head priest Vishnu Chettian. The young Andal grew into a lovely and graceful girl. She dedicated her life to Sri. Vishnu. It was Andal who made the flower garland daily for Lord Vishnu, first wore it on herself and then gave it to the Lord.

3. Ambika Pallavi (Soundarya Lahari)
This recital is based on two slokas (hymns) taken from Soundarya Lahari composed in praise of Goddess Ambika by Adi Sankara. In this recita, the omnipotent divine mother is admired for her virtues. It also expresses the unfettered faith and myriad feelings of her worshippers, whose hearts get filled with joy at the sight of her divine presence.

4. Priye Charuseele
This composition is taken from the 12th Century magnum opus Gita Govinda written by Jayadeva. It belongs to the group of songs called Astapadi, which are renowned for its lyrical charm with Lord Krishna as the subject. In this performance, a repentant Lord Krishna is seen pleading to win back his beloved Radha, who becomes angry and upset at Krishna's demeanor.

5. Thillana
This is one of the presentation styles of Bharatanatyam, where a host of dancers perform together, exploring the extent of strong kinetics. Thillana requires exemplary skills in terms of rhythm, timing, and synchronization in order to radiate the unique performance charm associated with it.
