AR Rahman - CWG Theme Song - Official Muisc Video

For composing the song, A. R. Rahman took the time of six months. Grammy and Oscar winning composer, Rahman performed the Theme Song live during the launch. On 3 October 2010, he will also perform the song during the Opening Ceremony of the Games. The launch function was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and CWG Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi.

According to Rahman, his song will compete and become more famous than the Shakira's Waka-Waka Song, which she sang for Fifa World Cup 2010. Talking about the song, Rahman said: "It has not been easy. Got the first lines six months ago and a lot of modifications have gone in, post that. I kept tweaking it and finally finished it last night".

Chairman of the Organising Committee for Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, Suresh Kalmadi exhorted the city and the nation to greet Delhi 2010 with open arms on this occasion. He said, "Rahman is one of the jewels of India and he has done an excellent job with the Theme Song for the Delhi 2010. I urge people to come out, cheer the athletes and be a part of this sporting extravaganza".

On this occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said: "Commonwealth Games will be celebrated like a festival which has begun today. We will provide our whole hearted support to Mr. Kalmadi and his team for Delhi 2010. As far as the medal tally is concerned, I wish to reassure our countrymen that Haryana will have the top position in domestic tally with our performance as we had done in the Beijing Olympics. The games are a matter of pride not only for the city of Delhi, but for Haryana and the rest of the country also."

proud to be indian we should nt compare waka waka wit this because they both r differnt songs in different field ,i think this song is way far better than any other song beacuse in such less time AR Rahman composed such a great song and AR Rahman u made India proud and hope cwg goes great,thnx Rahman and those who think it is not good then hear it again
