@ThroughStoneWalls I've yet to hear a SINGLE rationale for whatever it is you want to define as 'traditional' marriage, that doesn't hold up as equally well for same-gender couples. In fact, all of these REEL LOVE videos show why marriage equality is important to same-gender couples as well. You may have some definition/rationale that's specific to YOUR version of a particular religion, but that's not only not justification for U.S. law, but is specifically forbidden as a rationale in law.

@EmeraldView, though I do not believe you are doing so intentionally, you are arguing against an idea that I do not hold. All I hope to do is suggest that you try again to hear the rationale behind traditional marriage, though I think this comments section is too limited to dialogue in depth. I wouldn't expect our reasoning to change your mind, but if you could give another shot at understanding it, you may get the real position we’re coming from.

@ThroughStoneWalls That is RIGHT marriage is NOT about genitals, however it most certainly is not I who is reducing it to that. It is the Ruth Institute, its supporters (like you), and similar fundamentalist organizations who HAVE reduced marriage to nothing more than the gender of the individuals getting married, NOT the love and commitment to one another and any children they might have, as there is NOTHING a straight married couple has that a gay couple doesn't, YOUR religion notwithstanding

@iluvreflect NO she did not say SOME people read it again. "See this is something you would NEVER ever EVER see among gay couples." There was no qualifying of the statement. I stand by what I said...despicable!

@Emerald View, I understand that you disagree with the messages of the Ruth Institute. I think it is unfair for you to choose this forum for debate. Marriage is not about genitals, and it is crass for you to reduce it to that. If you would like to engage in debate with those of us who believe that marriage is a lifelong, committed relationship between a man and a woman, I hope that you try to understand our point of view. It's much more complicated and rational than you acknowledge in your post.

@ThroughStoneWalls What do you mean? I'm only helping to reiterate what The Ruth Institute is telling us in this video series. Which is that THIS (video content) is what real LOVE and Marriage is all about. The love demonstrated in these video obviously can only happen when there are opposing genitals involved in the relationship; right? Afterall TRI adamantly FIGHTS against marriage equality for same-gender couples, and has rejected quite similar videos to these which feature gay couples.
