this guy does good pedal reviews. and he's right. i've probably played over 15 different little green tubescreamers or clones. they all sound the same. especially live.

@monkeyxx potentiometers (the pots for the volume and tone) have 10-20% variance.
-
@slashdude44 this. MXRs are the coolest pedals anyway, but youll also have to decide between the tones they'll give you

It's MAY-SAH Boogie.

MacReverb has it right. Dunlop made a deal with GC move overstock. I've compared the internals at length. They are identical. It set at the factory it 'GT-OD' mode. Flipping the switch inside the CL1 turns it into a ZW-OD,
giving the tone knob a slighty different taper with less tube screamer style mid-hump. That's all there is to it folks. Flip your GTs an ZWs and get a Classic. Use the extra cash for more gear :)

The CL1 Classic Overdrive IS the Zakk Wylde OD AND the GT OD in one case. There is a switch inside the Classic but it's on the TOP of the circuit board. So, you have to remove the knobs and separate the guts from the case. I've taken mine apart it's there. Less mid hump with the ZW setting. Both sound great.

the clasic has more crunchnes more grid the other more output and beter break up
you can clearly see that your volume knob on the Classic Overdrive is set lower than the GT. don't know if that makes a difference, but, anyway, thanks for the comparison

@monkeyxx What you see is not what you hear. The volume is leveled. I wouldn't have made the comparison if I didn't get the levels to match. the video would be useless.
