This reminds me of my first P-Funk concert: Clevland, Ohio July 1980. I was taking the Greyhound to visit my niece in Canton OH. I had a six hour layover. What was a beautiful, sexy, young lady to do in the city with all that time to kill?
I went into the bar, met a fella who had two tickets. Went to the show with this total stranger and had the time of my life. First time I eva seen everybody up in the joint gettin' high and the police did nothing but enjoy the show. It was a quite a night.

My uncle Stephen Smalls,a Funky bass player from Queens NY,took me to my first show circa 1977 at Madison Square Garden.I was a 16 yr old Guitarist/Bassist. I've been 'Funked up' ever since.

When I first heard up on the down stroke I was hooked then Parliament came out in '76 with Tear the Roof off the Sucker(Give up the Funk) I became a P-Funk fan for LIFE!! All this new music today will never replace real music! Funk will always live and will never die!! R.I.P. Glen Goines, Star Child, Tiki Fulwood & Eddie Hazel

Glen was a straight spirit filled funky assed ROCK STAR!
Glen was like the last missing ingredient in the P-Funk stew. No doubt the guy enabled Parliament to make its best and most lasting work. Pure musical genius.

I thank GOD that I came along when I did. I'm 42 yrs old and I remember growing up listening to all those great black bands. I will always praise my father for introducing me to GOOD music. We always had music playing in the house and he had EVERYTHING. When you know good music, you can't fathom listening to bullshyt which is the case in most of today's music.
