So yer principle is that: if a person assumes the status quo position, they do not have to defend that position? Like slavery needed no defense, because as the status quo position, it was automatically the correct position? Like the terra-centric idea needed no defense becuz it was the prior idea & thus the correct idea. So it's a shotgun-argument. Whoever yells 'shotgun!' first owns the passenger seat. That's GENIUS! LOL. Scaremonger depends on how true it is. As I've said if the warming trend ceases I will admit I was wrong. U won't admit to yer fallibility. All status quos come to an end BTW. U r claiming the status quo is doing no damage. That is a claim. U r claiming I'm a scaremonger. That is a claim. But u won't back them up by answering 3 simple questions. Which if u MIGHT be wrong, u should answer. But I guess since yer status quo, u can't possibly be wrong making u THE law-giver against change.

U didnt answer any of those questions. Can u? I'll answer yours. There r warming/cooling trends in the geologic record (& mass extinctions). This warming trend/mass extinction is way 2 early. There's evidence they r connected. As a biologist I go by Socrates postulation 'The only thing u KNOW is that u DONT KNOW.' I use probabilities/evidence. Thus none of this is in stone - a better idea might surface. Something HAS 2 be done. Until u give a better explanation w/evidence I'll go with this 1 :D

Time will tell. I'm happy to admit I was wrong if the warming trend stops. However there is a warming trend. Tell me this, since u are looking to debunk something: Can u double the nitrogen content of top-soil and nothing happen? Can u double the [H3O+] of a lake and nothing happen? Can u double the salinity of a large body of water and nothing happen? And if SOMETHING happens in each of those cases, how then can u double CO2 concentration in the atmosphere and expect NOTHING to change? LOL.
