the thing is, is that music is patterns of notes, & theres only so many notes & stumming rhythms, & cause music has been around for SOOOO long it shouldnt come as a suprize for songs to sound somewhat similar cause now a days its so hard to find an original sound. i'll be messing around on my guitar and start playing something thats i think sounds real cool but then ralize it sound just like another song i know but eithe in a different key or a slightly different sturmming pattern

I honestly couldn't care who they rip off they have catchy tunes, and I would much rather listen to Godsmack then NIN, Filter, and Preston Nash not that I'm a huge Godsmack fan

Those songs sound similar yes. Exactly the same? No. If you listen closely, a lot of songs done sound very similar to songs done before it. That's the way music is. An artist hears a song they like and they tweak it's little to make it their own. Music is like that. Each artist gets inspiration from another artist.

Lots of songs out there that sound similar out there but it doesn't mean they ripped off each other. Good catch on the way these matched each other though!

That makes me mad. I'm a big NIN fan. Before I knew they had ripped off so many songs, I liked GodSmack.

@TheNightsMoon I should probably say that despite this video, I don't really mind Godsmack all that much. My biggest problem with them is not how much some of their songs sound like other bands, but that Godsmack songs sound like pretty much every other Godsmack song. Every time they break out of their mostly formulaic sound, I usually don't like the song. That might say more about me than them; I don't know.
