These vowels actually don't exist in any language. Cardinal vowels are a system of measurement used by phoneticians to classify and compare vowels from different languages. They "fence in" the area of the mouth where vowels are articulated. Though you have to keep practicing them to make sure you don't forget them. A bit of a pain.

English almost doesn't have these sounds. Everything is so centralized for us - pure vowels sound like Japanese or Spanish to us.
