Spreading your fingers on the flick grip gives you a fair amount more touch and control on the disc, but will give you problems when you try to stretch out and throw flick hucks (long bombs). With sufficient practice, the fingers together grip gives better spin and distance, and is largely superior to fingers separate.

the reason i ask is because i can throw a forehand bomb, but it comes out slow. The flick comes out in half the time but doesn't go nearly as far.
