i dont see why everyone says pearce should have won that. I am a huge shaun white fan and when i first saw this, i thought pearce deserved to win too.

but if u break it down trick-by-trick plus u add that shaun had a 6th hit where pearce didnt, its really obvious that shaun had the better run

i see a lot of contest at my local park, but i also go to other resots to help shapin contest setups, and if i watch the contest then i see new kids that i dont know doing tricks that i dont know...(almost every contest) like common!

and then there are theese kids that ar +-14 and they do BS10 no grab, just no style... there is less and less kids every season that put the style most important, and the number of rotations less important...

look let me break it down for u:

at first people started snowboardin because it had more style than skiing...

even if it was harder to learn and to go big people were shreddin caus they had style...

now as it both looks same, dubs, 12s,... (not that i dont like tHorgmo s SWBS 12)

so all kids go skiing caus it is easier to spin and flip, there is no more difference between ski and snowboard in terms of style...

@MegaNafets snowboarding will not die-right now skiing is more popular but eventually snowboarding will be more popular than skiing again. It just changes every few years. Where I live, things are pretty even in terms of the snowboarding-skiing ratio

@MegaNafets I agree style is important and the best method should win every contest but competitive snowboarding is just like any other sport-technicality gets rewarded

u will see there will be more and more freeski caus there is no difference between it and snowboarding anymore... and skiing is easier to go big (900 and up) so all the kids are gonna ski... and snowboarding is gonna die... and i live because of snowboarding -->small sponsorship (free stuff) and park shapin so i need it to be alive!

trust me i kno what i am talkin about... i see all those freeski kids every winter every day... some days they go up to +-90% of the park users... SUCK

i know there is differences... but if u arent into snowboarding like me and u, it just looks all same...

and where was the difference between the runs at olympics?

the best riders just pulled of bs/ fs airs dub corks and 10s and got high rating...

that just sucks...

if u have been there at the roots of snowboarding u will know that it got popular caus of style. save the style...--> save snowboarding....

@MegaNafets I would say double dip and cork are interchangeable and unless you are really into snowboarding it's difficult to appreciate the differences. I really do see a pretty massive difference in style between shaun's dub mctwist and Ipod's...I think Ipod's is better, but I have been involved in snowboarding for almost 10 years so I know what to look for
